A countryside tourist attraction for all the family!

A historic windmill with gift shops and woodland of British native treesWelcome...

Wymondham Windmill is a countryside tourist attraction for all the family.

It offers a historic windmill, gift shops, organic food shop, tearooms serving homemade cakes and cream teas, and picturesque woodland of British native trees.

We have various craft workshops and retail outlets onsite, as well as many visiting craftspeople throughout the year.

About the Windmill...

Built from local ironstone and topped with brick, the Windmill is a five-storey tower mill circa 1814. It has an ogee cap and fantail, originally with six patent sails and is known as a Six Arm Lincolnshire Cross.

In 1952, it ceased grinding corn (by then it was powered by an engine) but continued with cattle feed until 1960. It is one of only four six-sailed windmills remaining in the country.

Partially restored and providing a superb view of the village and surrounding unspoilt countryside, the Windmill together with the Tearooms, woodland of native British trees and the craft shops is a unique visitor attraction.

Serving hot and cold snacks all year roundThe Tearooms...
